Thomas had his PhD oral exam today. He did a superb job defending his thesis and answering questions across a wide range of topics both inside and outside of his thesis area. Huge congratulations!

A new day, a new site. This time we will explore the full GHG budget of a maize crop that is then transitioned into two paddocks one with Plantain and one with Ryegrass/Clover.

Congratulations to team member Charlotte on being awarded the Gene E. Likens Biogeosciences Junior Scientist Outstanding Publication award (https://www.esa.org/biogeosciences/awards/) from the Ecological Society of America for her 2020 Global Change Biology paper "Embracing a new paradigm for temperature sensitivity of soil microbes".

Congratulations to Jasmine who passed her PhD oral exam with flying colours and now Dr Robinson. A substantial contribution to understanding the temperature response of respiration in soil, dealing with a very difficult area of literature and experimentation.

Congrats to Aaron and Anne who graduated today covering carbon and nitrous oxide fluxes at paddock scales respectively.
