The 5th December was celebrated at the WaiBoP workshop with the cutting of a cake, from left Richard McDowell (Norman Taylor lecturer 2015), Reece Hill and Megan Balks.

Congrats to Tim Norris and Brendon Welten who were awarded best MSc (Sir Theodore Rigg award) and PhD thesis (Morice Fieldes Award ) respectively by the New Zealand Society of Soil Science at this year’s WaiBoP conference.

Congrats to Sam McNally who submitted his PhD thesis today. Sam is currently working for Plant and Food with Mike Beare and part of his role will see him continuing to work with the WaiBER team.

We have been preparing “Sam and Dave Dig a Hole” books for distribution to local primary schools to celebrate the International Year of Soils. ​ ​
