Had an excellent visit to our field site by board members from PGGRC board members Andrew Morrison and Gavin Sheath and General Manager Mark Aspin.

Sheree Balvert was awarded the Bert Quinn award in recognition as a PhD in their final year most likely to contribute to New Zealand Soil Science.

A slightly late congratulations to two members of WaiBER for awards from the New Zealand Society of Soil Science.

• Sam McNally was awarded the Morice Fieldes Award for most meritorious PhD thesis 2016

• Jasmine Robinson was awarded the Sir Theodore Rigg award for best masterate thesis 2016.

Sam is currently a postdoc at Plant and Food while Jasmine is conducting a PhD at Waikato University.
