Joss Ratcliffe won the Morice Fieldes Award (NZ Society of Soil Science) for the most meritorious PhD thesis of 2020 for his thesis: “Carbon dynamics in restiad peatlands across different timescales.”

Kris Numa won the Sir Theodore Rigg award for best masterate thesis in 2020 for her thesis: “The temperature response of soil respiration from labile and stable carbon.”
